Historical (Baker and Masey) house – heritage alterations and additions

Completed in 1913, this was designed as a summer retreat for a fruit farming family. It is an interesting example of a courtyard plan form: an inner courtyard provides for a friendly main entrance and circulating space. Beautifully crafted teak windows and doors pierce the thick outer walls, creating picture views – while shutters provide sensitve and sensible security when the house is shut up.
