Old Barn Adaptive Reuse

Amidst the backdrop of the Cape Winelands, the project site comprises a farm werf featuring a homestead of exceptional architectural character, flanked by low white walls, and two long outbuildings.

SDKS designed a simple adaptive reuse within one of the outbuildings, a barn retaining mid-18th-Century period features. This workspace includes a welcoming reception area and five carefully-crafted offices, which are also large enough to serve as consulting rooms. The idyllic location perfectly aligns with the Client’s commitment to community well-being.
